Train your mind to always look out for new perspectives, especially if you are faced with difficulties. My mentor once told me do not wait for things to go awry, when things are going great for you that's when you look for new perspective, get a broad perspective. Why? I asked. They said "CHANGE BEFORE CHANGE COMES, always try to stay ahead of circumstances". Think of it as your PLAN B, C, D,..

Here's how you can train your mind to get new perspective

Increase your awareness. One of the most important things in life is to be aware of yourself. To be aware of every step you take, the words you say, and actions you perform is very important. Be aware of things happening around, they might teach you one thing or two or even help you get a new perspective about life. Reading, watching reality shows,  watching news and documentaries can click something in your mind that has been inactive for some times.

Travel. Traveling is an awesome (and fun) way to gain a new perspective. Land yourself in a totally different country from your own and explore the culture. Compare countries and how they value different ideas and rules. I have a friend that likes travelling. She keeps a diary to note down the experiences she picked up in different places. Every time she shares most people are blown away by the stuff she discovers in different places she goes to.

Clean. Get rid of some of your old stuff that you don't need anymore. Move your furniture around and vacuum in those hard to reach spots. Go through all your drawers and reorganize them. Wash those mirrors, windows, and TV screens. Try to not leave a speck of dust behind. If you do this, you'll be putting your old self in the trash can, and you'll have a blank new perspective to work with. You do not just clean your physical environment, you should clean your mind and soul too. By cleaning your mind, body, and spirit, your time will expand. You will gain a new perspective that will allow you to accomplish much more.

Workout. A new body helps you have a new perspective. You do not need a heavy weights, your body is heavy enough. Go for a walk, try walking up stairs or just mild exercises. Swimming and riding a bike offer the body plenty of workouts. Workouts also helps the body to get rid of stress.
