HARD WORK OUTSHINES ALL
The fact that we are HARD WORKING individuals that is enough to overcome the obstacles, while the doubters will be silenced by our AWESOME results and the mistakes will be overshadowed by our wills to work hard. In other words, HARD WORK is equal to obstacles, doubters and mistakes all combined because working hard helps you break barriers, it helps you overcome the odds, it makes you limitless. Hard work allows you to TRANSFORM, to go beyond the normal form be anything that you want to become.
Last year I use to help a young girl with her schoolwork, mathematics and physical science especially. This young girl presented to me few obstacles that I needed to get out of the way so I can reach deep down in her mind. The first obstacles was that she was very shy, when we started the classes she would just nod in agreement or shake her head for disagreement. The second obstacle was the little confident she had when first started the meetings, every time I give her some work she would doubt her answer only to find out later that her answer was right. The last obstacle was the fact that she is shy, she did not say much during our meetings. I remember when her parents first brought her to me the father said "SHE DOES NOT TALK". Now I had three obstacles, so I needed a PLAN. I need to be sincere, so every time I explained something to her I will look into her eyes and every time I did this something appears on her face, A VERY SWEET SMILE. Secondly, I needed to boost her confidence, I kept telling her that if you did great in grade 10 in these subjects you do not have to panic the grade 12 content because you have mastered the basics in grade 10. We started going through old question papers because the final examination will be more or less the same. At this stage I knew I have done 60% of the work, I knew I had touched her in a special way. Lastly, I decided to let her explain few questions to me, when we go through a sum I ask her to lead the discussion, I ask her to lay down the steps we need to take so we get to the answer. To the young girl this was EXTRAORDINARY because she probably never did something like this before in her life but to me, I needed to overcome the obstacles so I needed to do something EXTRA. I needed to do the hard work with her, I needed to dig deep for the appropriate teaching habits that will bring out the best in us.
When the final results came out, she got the best results, I couldn't believe it. This is what she said to after getting her results:
"SO BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, PUT IN THE WORK AND THE HOURS, PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE BECAUSE IT REALLY DOES MAKE PERFECT, DO NOT GIVE UP AND ALWAYS PRAY. YOU CAN DO IT...NO MATTER WHAT SUBJECT IT IS, IT IS JUST AN OBSTACLE YOU CAN OVERCOME IT!!!"
Next time you are faced with obstacles, doubters and overcrowded by mistakes, just remind yourself that your hard work will TRANSFORM obstacles in OPPORTUNITIES, doubters into BELIEVERS and mistakes into CERTAINTY.
You can break any barrier in you way, all you need to do is WORK HARD, WORK SMART and all the invincible will become visible and you shall be LIMITLESS.
